Base Salary $126,065 - $142,171 + 17% superannuation

The Gadigal Centre is the University of Sydney's dedicated student centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, providing academic, pastoral and cultural support services to students to help them achieve their full potential..
As the Advancement Manager at the Gadigal Centre, you will play a central role in supporting the academic success and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at the University of Sydney. You will work closely with the Director and Program Manager of the Gadigal Centre to drive the implementation of student-focused initiatives, and work alongside our other Advancement Manager to manage a high-performing team.
You will serve as a key point of contact for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, drawing on your cultural knowledge to provide guidance, foster engagement, and support academic progression. You will lead the development and delivery of targeted academic support services, manage staff performance, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure culturally safe and effective student outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
support the Advancement Team with a strong emphasis on improving academic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
contribute to the delivery and continuous improvement of Gadigal Centre programs and services
provide academic guidance and mentoring to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
develop and implement tailored learning support initiatives that promote academic progression, retention and completion
liaise with other University Units to embed culturally responsive policies, procedures, and support frameworks for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
manage and develop Gadigal Centre staff to ensure high-quality delivery of academic and student support services
About you
excellent knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures
demonstrated experience in the supervision, training, mentoring and performance management of staff
strong computer literacy skills, in particular corporate level databases and information systems
excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and achieve required outcomes
effective and tactful communication skills together with strong problem-solving skills
the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement.
