Who are we looking for?
We’re seeking an AI Engineer to lead the development and integration of AI capabilities across Information Services teams and functions, supporting both pro-code and low-code environments. This role will design, build, and maintain AI agents, tools, patterns, and evaluation frameworks, primarily leveraging Microsoft technologies.
In this dynamic role you will:
- Design and improve foundational infrastructure and reusable patterns for AI development across pro-code and low-code streams.
- Ensure composability and compatibility between AI components built across environments.
- Develop and maintain evaluation frameworks and tools to measure AI performance, accuracy, safety, and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal teams to apply AI capabilities to productivity tools, products, and platforms.
- Serve as liaison between stakeholders and project teams, delivering feedback and enabling teams to embed AI into their solutions and products.
- Stay current with emerging AI technologies and best practices, especially within the Microsoft ecosystem, and provide technical leadership in this area.
- Ensure that new solution development or code conforms to GHD standards and integrates effectively with existing business systems.
- Maintain a long-term focus on delivering high-quality, low-maintenance AI solutions for GHD.
- Contribute to the development of standards, procedures, and methodologies associated with AI solution development and maintenance.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in AI solution environments and work with peers to plan and implement changes.
- Inform the Development & Integration Architect immediately of any incident or issue that might compromise GHD’s production applications and assist in resolution.
- Liaise with software vendors to report and resolve issues where required.
- Lead large, complex AI solution development and support undertakings, providing technical leadership and setting a professional example for others to follow.
What you will bring to the team:
- Strong experience with AI tools and platforms in the Microsoft ecosystem, such as Azure OpenAI, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, and AI Foundry.
- Ability to provide design and AI engineering leadership, with strong problem-solving skills in a team environment.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, context management, agent tooling, and applicable standards like MCP and A2A.
- Demonstrated experience in web-based application development using HTML5, Angular, or similar front-end technologies.
- Ability to mentor and coach developers across AI disciplines.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with an open and collaborative approach.

Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in AI solution development or software engineering with AI integration.
- Experience in enterprise-grade software development using Microsoft technologies.
- Degree in Computer Science, AI, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage multiple projects.
- Demonstrated experience in application analysis, design, development, and deployment using at least one of the following languages:
- C#
- Python
