About the Role
As an Allied Health Assistant, you will work under the supervision of qualified allied health professionals to implement individualised dementia rehabilitation programs in clients’ homes or community settings. You’ll play a key role in supporting older adults to maintain independence, mobility, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured, client-centred rehabilitation activities to older adults with cognitive impairment
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of therapy plans developed by the multidisciplinary team
- Work closely with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech pathologists, and other allied health professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation and provide timely feedback to supervising clinicians
- Support clients and carers in understanding and participating in therapy goals
- Promote independence, safety, and wellbeing in the home and community environment
About You
- Certificate III or IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working with older adults, particularly those with dementia or cognitive impairment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Understanding of person-centred care and dementia-friendly practice
- A current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check (if applicable), and current First Aid certificate
