We are looking to add two Therapy Assistants (TA) or Allied Health Assistants (AHA) to our team. This role will be a full time, onsite role. As a TA or AHA at Umbrella Therapy Services, you will work under the guidance and supervision of registered allied health professionals to support the implementation of therapy programs, assist clients in practicing skills, and contribute to their progress towards therapy goals. This role involves working closely with children in a dynamic, hands-on setting. You’ll be engaging in floor-based play, interactive therapy sessions, and creative activities that support developmental goals in a child-friendly way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Physically fit and comfortable working on the floor with children in an active, play-based setting
- Assist with the delivery of therapy programs as directed by allied health professionals.
- Support clients with therapeutic exercises, activities, and daily living skills.
- Set up, maintain, and clean therapy equipment.
- Document client progress and report observations to supervising clinicians.
- Provide support during therapy sessions to ensure client safety and engagement.
- Perform basic administrative and clerical tasks (e.g., scheduling, documentation).
- Working across clinics, home and community visits.
Essential Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (HLT43021 or equivalent), or currently studying an allied health degree (e.g., OT, Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy).
- Experience working with children, families, or people with disabilities (desirable).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Current Working with Vulnerable People registration (or willingness to obtain).
- Current National Police Clearance (within the last 12 months).
- Valid Australian Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle for community-based work.
