The Market Conduct team oversees the behaviour of market participants to ensure Australia's financial markets operate with integrity and transparency. As an Analyst in Intermediary Compliance, you will be part of a team monitoring investment banks and intermediaries, analysing market activity, and contributing to regulatory outcomes that support fair and efficient markets.

The team
The Market Conduct team (within the Markets Group) supervises the conduct of participants in exchange and OTC markets, investment banks, OTC product issuers and wholesale private capital fund managers. The Market Conduct team is also responsible for administering markets regulation, including the market integrity rules.
The role
As an Analyst, you will:
- Conduct surveillance, intelligence gathering, and project work to identify risks and assess compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analyse market activity and provide evaluation and guidance on technical and policy issues.
- Undertake research and contribute internal advice, reports, and briefings for regulatory matters.
- Contribute to wider ASIC projects and activities which may lead to the drafting of regulatory updates, guidance and media releases.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to operational and strategic team goals, with flexibility for full-time or part-time arrangements.
About you
You will have experience in compliance, risk, or analysis of regulatory issues in a financial services environment such as trading, corporate finance, investment banking, or within a regulator. You have knowledge of the Corporations Act, market integrity rules, and Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) conditions as they apply to financial services intermediaries. Your ability to interpret complex information and apply this to regulatory matters will be highly valued.
You have strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to a range of audiences. You can work collaboratively across teams, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders. Your forward-thinking approach and ability to work in a dynamic regulatory environment will support effective market outcomes.
