About the Position

The Area Manager, Aquatics is responsible for setting and delivering a bold strategic direction that aligns with Active Monash’s vision of ‘Participate Your Way’, a commitment to creating inclusive, engaging, and customer-led aquatic experiences that increase participation across the aquatics community.

This role leads the development and implementation of a dynamic marketing and engagement strategy to grow participation in aquatic services and programs, strengthen brand identity, and deepen community connection.

Skills and Experience

Proven experience in leading a high-performing aquatic or recreation facility with strong commercial and community outcomes

Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver a strategic marketing plan that drives participation, brand engagement, and customer growth

Strong leadership capability, with experience managing large teams, cultivating a positive culture, and supporting performance and development

Deep understanding of contemporary aquatic programming, inclusion principles, and public health promotion through physical activity

Exceptional communication skills, written, verbal, and interpersonal, with the ability to influence, advocate and collaborate across stakeholders

Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking, innovation, and solution-focused planning in a dynamic, multi-site environment
