The Emergency Accommodation Program (EAP) is a state-wide program which provides short term emergency grant assistance to fund budget motel accommodation for people in absolute housing crisis with no other housing or support options.
The Access Worker EAP is responsible for assessing requests for emergency accommodation from customers referred by specialist domestic violence and homelessness services and the SA Housing Trust. The Access Worker EAP is required to work in a high-pressured crisis service environment in the assessment and communication of emergency accommodation decisions to multiple stakeholders. The Access Worker EAP utilises their knowledge and understanding of customer centred practice, trauma informed practice and working with vulnerable people to determine assessment outcomes.
Special Conditions
- Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Clearance prior to being employed.
- The successful applicant may be required to hold a current Australian issued Drivers Licence, which must be maintained.
- Appointment will be to a specific Region within SA Housing Trust with possible movement to any other Region depending on organisational needs. The incumbent may be assigned to any other area to perform work of a similar nature appropriate to the classification on a temporary or continuing basis.
- The incumbent in the role is a Mandated Notifier of child abuse under the Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017.
