About the Business Unit:
Located at Maldon, Tarrengower Prison is a Minimum-Security Prison for women. The focus of both prisons is rehabilitation via individual case management, employment, education, training and the provision of programs and targeted interventions to address offending behaviour and promote the development of prosocial behaviour. Tarrengower prison provides contemporary and quality correctional services that prepare prisoners for transition and reintegration.
About the Role:
The Assessment and Transition Coordinator plays a vital role within the Offender Services Team at Tarrengower Prison, supporting the reintegration and transition needs of women in custody.
Some of your duties will include:
- Supporting the reintegration and transition needs of women in custody through tailored planning and service coordination
- Administering risk and needs assessments using approved Corrections Victoria tools to inform individualised transition plans
- Facilitating the Corrections Victoria Reintegration Pathway by identifying eligible participants and coordinating referrals to appropriate services.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Demonstrated understanding of transition and reintegration issues and needs of prisoners
- Demonstrated ability to administer risk assessment tools with individual prisoners
- Demonstrated capacity or aptitude to work with clients who are difficult to engage individually and in group work settings
- Capacity to work collaboratively within a prison setting.
