ABOUT THE POSITION:
The purpose of the position is to transfer, rehouse and relabel flood-affected Geology Collections housed at Merri-bek Collection facility to restore accessibility.
Notable skills and experiences:
- Sound knowledge of and experience in Geology disciplinary and collection cataloguing frameworks. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with geological collections is an advantage.
- Sound knowledge and experience of managing and organising collections, especially science collections. Equivalent associated skills and experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in handling museum objects, and especially science collections, including awareness of typical object conservation techniques.
- Sound knowledge of and experience in using electronic collection management databases in museums. Experience with KE EMu and MVWISE is an advantage.
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and interpersonal, and the ability to work autonomously and in teams.
- Sound time-management skills and demonstrated attention to detail.

OTHER INFORMATION:
- This is a VPS2.2 Full-time position.
- The salary offered is $66,063 base of grade, plus 12% superannuation.
