This permanent, full-time position is critical to ensuring the overall governance of the finance function of the School. The successful candidate will be responsible for enabling the delivery of financial results, including insightful reporting and recommendations, to drive efficiencies and reduce costs. Key to the role is also the responsibility for the development of financial strategy and medium-term plans, and the leadership and engagement of the Finance team.
About the role:
The Associate Director of Finance is responsible for the following tasks:
- Leading the Finance accounting and Finance administration teams
- Supporting delivery of financial targets through co-piloting, delivering insightful reporting and recommendations, to drive actions, efficiencies and reduce costs
- Interpreting, guiding, and supporting budget holders and others to take good financial & commercial decisions
- Providing meaningful data and recommended actions in simple-to-understand formats
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the team to drive strong engagement and to deliver contemporary financial solutions
- Identifying strategic opportunities for the School
- Developing short, medium, and long-term financial plans to support the requirements of delivering strategy and financial targets, including long-term capital and cash modelling
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders (students, staff and GGS community)
- Contributing to, and participating in, Project Management activities and other duties
