About the role
We’re all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a key member of the Sustainable Investment and Planning team, you’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to shape and execute ART’s sustainable investing strategy. Your work will focus on identifying and analysing social sustainability-related risks and opportunities, embedding them into investment decisions, and supporting the development of resilient portfolios that deliver long-term value for members.
You’ll also contribute to strategic planning across the investment portfolio, support governance and compliance obligations, and represent ART in external working groups and collaborative bodies.
Day to day, you'll:
- Develop and implement strategies for financially material social-related risks and opportunities.
- Act as a subject matter expert on social issues during due diligence, transactions, and stewardship engagements.
- Identify emerging social themes and make recommendations for integration into ART’s investment process.
- Conduct detailed research and analysis to support implementation of the sustainable investment strategy.
Location: Sydney or Brisbane. This role is a permanent opportunity.

You’re a strategic thinker with a passion for sustainability and a strong foundation in investment research and social sustainability issues. You thrive in collaborative environments and are confident presenting insights to senior stakeholders. You’re also detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced setting. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:
- You have a tertiary qualification in finance, investments, commerce, or economics, and you use that foundation to think critically and strategically.
- You’ve built solid experience in the investment industry or a related domain, giving you a strong grasp of market dynamics, regulations, and emerging trends.
- You’re a deep diver when it comes to research and analysis, able to uncover insights that shape strategy and drive decisions.
- You know how to engage stakeholders and negotiate outcomes that align with long-term goals and member interests.
- You communicate with clarity and confidence, whether you’re presenting to senior leaders or collaborating with peers.
- You’re comfortable with the tools of the trade, from investment systems to analytics platforms, and you use them to work smarter.
- You have a sharp eye for detail and the ability to juggle competing priorities without losing focus.
