Overview of the Role:
Spirit Technology is seeking an experienced AWS Practice Lead, in our Managed Technology stream, working from our centrally located office, in the Sydney CBD.
As the AWS Practice Lead, you will lead and grow Spirit’s AWS practice by defining, delivering, and evolving secure, scalable, and sustainable cloud solutions aligned to our clients’ needs. This leadership role combines technical depth in AWS with business acumen, stakeholder engagement, and people leadership.
You will shape GTM offerings, build our AWS capability internally and externally, drive innovation through AWS-native and hybrid solutions (supported by Professional & Managed Service capability), and ensure customer outcomes and satisfaction. Acting as both evangelist and advisor, you’ll foster a high-performing team, align solutions to Spirit’s strategic objectives, and support the broader Managed Services and Cyber businesses.
Core Accountabilities:
- Define and own the AWS Practice Strategy - Develop and maintain Spirit’s AWS GTM strategy, capability and roadmap, ensuring alignment overall business goals.
- Capability and Offerings Development - Design, document, and continuously enhance AWS services and product catalogue, MSA/SOW templates, pricing models, and vendor agreements in line with define GTM Levels.
- Leadership and Team Development - Recruit, mentor, and develop AWS-certified professionals. Build a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and ownership (internally as well as externally through 3rd party suppliers).
- Delivery Excellence and Client Advocacy - Ensure successful delivery of AWS projects, managed services, and advisory engagements, maintaining high client satisfaction and service health.
- Growth and Commercial Outcomes - Drive AWS-related revenue growth through delivery-led opportunities, innovation, and business development support. Maintain sales pipeline, opportunities through to committed sales cycles, target and budget.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement - Lead initiatives to modernise solutions, incorporate emerging AWS technologies, and reduce cost/risk for Spirit and clients alike.
- Stakeholder and Vendor Management - Build strong relationships with AWS and other strategic partners, aligning joint GTM strategies and securing support for ongoing growth of the practice.
- Governance and Risk Management - Ensure compliance with security, sustainability, and lifecycle management standards across all AWS engagements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 8–10+ years of experience in cloud (AWS-focused) roles, including leadership of technical teams.
- AWS Professional-level certification(s) (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer).
- Proven experience designing and delivering secure, scalable, and cost-effective AWS solutions or running a practice.
- Strong understanding of modern cloud architectures: multi-account, security best practices, CI/CD, DevOps, containers, serverless, and hybrid models.
- Experience defining product catalogues, GTM offerings, and vendor agreements.
- Excellent commercial acumen: ability to balance client outcomes with cost, risk, and margin.
- Excellent ability to lead and drive sales within the AWS arena, speak with authority and be a subject matter expert for the Practice.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $120,000.00 – $160,000.00 per year
