About the Role
As a Bar Attendant, you’ll be responsible for preparing and serving a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including cocktails, wines, beers, spirits, and coffee. You’ll work closely with the front-of-house team and be an integral part of the guest experience.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Preparing, serving, and selling cocktails, mixed drinks, beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages
- Creating and serving a variety of espresso-based coffee drinks including lattes, cappuccinos and flat whites with latte art
- Providing friendly and attentive service to all bar patrons
- Recommending wines, cocktails, or beverages to complement meals
- Collecting payments and operating POS systems and cash registers
- Tapping and changing kegs, attaching beverage supply lines
- Washing glassware and maintaining clean and organised bar and service areas
- Setting up and closing the bar, including cash handling, stock rotation, and restocking
- Following all RSA regulations and maintaining safe alcohol service practices
- Supporting the wider team during busy service periods
Experience & Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a bar or beverage-focused role within a restaurant or similar environment
- Certificate II in Hospitality or equivalent experience
- Valid RSA Certificate
- Sound knowledge of classic and modern cocktails, wines, and coffee preparation
- Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Flexible availability to work across a 7-day roster including nights and weekends
- Team player with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset
