Are you passionate about equipping Christian leaders for gospel ministry in rural, regional, and remote Australia?
Join Bush Church Aid (BCA) in launching and leading an exciting new initiative to help Field Staff not just survive - but thrive.
Lead the Way in Equipping Gospel Workers for Fruitful Ministry
The Bush Church Aid Society (BCA) is seeking a passionate and experienced Christian leader to pioneer a strategic new initiative called StartWell. This initiative is designed to support and equip gospel workers as they begin ministry in rural, regional, and remote Australia.
We’re launching a foundational training and support program to help new Field Staff to start well – to not just survive but thrive. This role will oversee the development, coordination, and delivery of a program that nurtures personal well-being, strengthens contextual mission readiness, and helps build effective long-term ministry. It will also help Field Staff understand BCA’s processes and responsibilities, and increase their effectiveness in engaging with supporters from the outset.
Evangelism & discipleship in rural, regional, and remote areas requires trust, time, and a deep knowledge of context. This position is all about giving new gospel workers the tools, encouragement, and training they need from day one.
This role leads and coordinates a training and orientation program, bringing together people and resources to equip new Field Staff for gospel ministry. You’ll oversee both the development and implementation of the program, working closely with subject matter experts, senior leaders, and new workers on the ground.
Key Focus Areas:
- Oversee the design and coordination of a scalable training and orientation program for new Field Staff
- Coordinate and engage subject matter experts to contribute in specialised areas, while also delivering selected content directly as appropriate
- Support theological and practical preparation for contextualised mission and evangelism by facilitating appropriate resources and mentoring
- Manage and coordinate pre-field preparation, online learning modules, and relational support systems
- Ensure the program equips Field Staff for measurable gospel outcomes from the start of their ministry
We’re seeking someone who has:
- A heart for rural, regional, and remote gospel ministry
- Ministry experience (ordained or lay) in either country (rural, regional, or remote) or cross-cultural settings
- Strong skills in training, mentoring, and content development
- A strategic mindset and ability to build systems that serve others
- Emotional intelligence and the ability to support the personal and relational well-being of gospel workers
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Is an Australian citizen or has full rights to work in Australia.
Experience with adult learning, coaching, or missionary preparation will be highly regarded.
Why Join BCA?
BCA has supported gospel workers across Australia since 1919. As part of our team, you’ll help shape the next generation of ministry leaders and contribute to long-term gospel impact in places where Christian community can be sparse.
This program is a long-term investment in the fruitfulness, resilience, and retention of BCA Field Staff. When our people start well, they minister longer, lead more clearly, and bring lasting gospel transformation to the communities they serve.
