Position Description – Boating Manager (Part-Time)
Location: Chelsea Yacht Club, VIC
Hours: 16 hours per week, including Saturdays
About Chelsea Yacht Club
Established in 1938, Chelsea Yacht Club is a vibrant sailing community committed to fostering safe, inclusive, and engaging on-water experiences. We are seeking a proactive and passionate Boating Manager to lead our Discover Sailing Centre and support the delivery of our sailing, powerboating, and SUP programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the Discover Sailing Centre Principal and liaison with Australian Sailing
- Coordinate and roster instructors for programs including Tackers, Start Sailing, Windsurfing, SUP, and more
- Ensure compliance with Victorian Marine Safety Regulations and Australian Sailing standards
- Maintain and prepare Club boats and equipment for safe operation
- Market and deliver all learn to sail programs
- Prepare reports on program performance, satisfaction, and financials
- Organise Instructor and Volunteer Development days
- Support budgeting, sponsorship, and event planning with Club leadership
Essential Requirements
- Strong planning, communication, and leadership skills
- Familiarity with Australian Sailing programs and standards
- Commitment to safety culture and child protection
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011 & HLTAID009)
- Working With Children Check
- Completion (or willingness to complete within 3 months) of required Australian Sailing eLearning modules
Desirable Attributes
- Experience in sport education, coaching, or vocational training
- A passion for community engagement and youth development
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 per week
