We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Cadet Planner to facilitate the front-line service to the Playford community. Your work will assist to provide direction to the growth and development of the Playford Community!

About the Role...


In this role you will be the first point of contact for the efficient and friendly provision of basic planning anddevelopmentadvice, and undertake related administrative duties as required.


In this role you will:

  • Provide frontline customer service specifically relating to the provision of planning and building advice and guidance and act as the first point of contact for basic technical and non-technical planning advice.
  • Undertake initial reviews of incoming Development Applications to determine and verify assessment processes and pathways.
  • Determine required fees and documentation at the lodgement stage.
  • Undertake assessment of and process non-complex applications under delegation to agreed standards of quality and time.
  • Engage with the community to achieve positive development outcomes.
  • Administrative accountabilities including maintaining mandatory registers, undertaking lodgement of Development Applications, Undertake Section 7 searches and compile mandatory reporting.

About You...


As the primary initial point of contact for Planning and Development queries for the Playford Community, you will possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills and the ability to relate, empathise and build relationships with customers.


In addition, you will possess:

  • Strong experience in customer service with a passion for delivering positive customer outcomes.
  • Highly developed computer literacy and administration skills.
  • An innovative and practical approach to problem solving and negotiation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet conflicting deadlines.
  • Initiative and self-drive, with the ability to work under broad guidance with minimal supervision.
  • General knowledge of Local Government development processes, the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act and Regulations.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning or working towards obtaining such qualifications.

Your passion for delivering an outstanding customer experience, coupled with a basic knowledge of Local Government Planning and Development processes will place you well to make a significant and meaningful contribution to the City of Playford community.


Incumbents in this position may be required to possess, or be willing to gain a

National Criminal History Clearance.
