The Opportunity
The Café Supervisor at Q Station plays a hands-on role in supporting the daily operations of the Wharf Café, ensuring quality service, smooth shifts, and an excellent guest experience.
This position is ideal for someone with strong barista skills and a passion for hospitality, who is either experienced in or looking to step into a supervisory role. The Café Supervisor assists with staff coordination, opening and closing procedures, and maintaining food safety and cleanliness standards, while working closely with the broader F&B team to support service across the site. This includes working on different F&B outlets to support broader operations.
The role also involves working collaboratively with the wider F&B team and supporting service across multiple outlets as operational needs arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver efficient, friendly, and professional café service, including high-quality coffee and light food preparation.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Wharf Café, ensuring smooth and timely service.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate orders and maintain service flow.
- Attend and contribute to weekly F&B team meetings.
- Assist with café staffing needs, including rostering and shift planning.
- Support the ongoing training and development of café team members.
- Ensure all café operations align with Q Station’s service standards and policies.
- Support other F&B outlets as needed to meet operational demands.
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in a busy café environment. (supervisory experience is advantageous).
- Current driver’s license.
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
- Food Handler certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Flexible availability, including weekdays, weekends, and both day/evening shifts.
- Willingness to take on challenges and contribute ideas to improve service.
- Ability to manage both service responsibilities and light admin tasks (with minimal desk time).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Capable of performing the physical tasks required to support café and site operations.
- Flexibility to support different F&B outlets as operational needs arise.
