As a Cane Rail Labourer, you will be part of a close-knit rail team, taking on hands-on tasks like track, bridge and civil construction, performing essential earthworks, laying track and operating maintenance equipment.
This is a full-time, seasonal role with a dynamic work schedule that may include weekends, and occasional overtime, depending on business needs.

Your Role in Action
- Inspection and Scoping: Railway track, signage, road crossings and more!
- Maintenance & Construction: Hands-on rail maintenance tasks, including sleeper replacement, line straightening, ballast packing, and turnout cleaning
- Response Champions: Support and assist during derailments across the region
- Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain a variety of vehicles, tools and equipment
- Team Player: Work collaboratively in a team, communicate effectively and safely on the job
Your Winning Combination
We are seeking a candidate with experience in civil construction, strong communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and a keen focus on safety.
While the following qualifications are requirements of this role, we are prepared to provide training to people who possess the right aptitude:
- Intermediate Rigger High Risk Work Licence (HRWL)
- Advanced Scaffolder HRWL
Desirable tickets:
- Dogging HRWL
- Working at Heights
- Front-End Loader Operation
- MR (Medium Rigid) License
- Non Slew Crane HRWL
