Join Our Team as a Career Mentor!
Are you passionate about helping people overcome barriers and achieve their employment goals? ETC is looking for a dedicated Career Mentor to join our Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program, supporting individuals with disability, injury or health conditions in preparing for, finding, and maintaining meaningful employment.
Why Join Us?
At ETC, we celebrate diversity and inclusion, and we believe everyone has something unique to bring to our teams. We are an equal opportunity employer, and we want YOU to join us — no matter your background or experience. We actively encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, neurodiverse individuals, people with disability, including those with hidden disabilities, LGBTIQA+ communities, culturally and linguistically diverse people, and anyone who may not have felt included in traditional workplaces. A diverse workforce makes us stronger and better at what we do.
What to expect?
As a Career Mentor, you’ll provide tailored, person-centred support to help people with disability (including hidden disabilities), injury or health conditions overcome barriers, build skills, and connect with employment opportunities. You’ll work closely with participants, employers, and community partners to create opportunities that improve lives. This role will cover Tweed Heads, Murwillumbah and Kingscliff locations. Travel among these locations is required each week.
Your day-to-day as a Career Mentor will include:
- Building rapport with participants and developing personalised employment plans
- Supporting participants with resumes, applications, and interview preparation
- Identifying training, work experience, and job opportunities
- Marketing participants to employers and generating job leads
- Providing post-placement support and tracking progress
- Ensuring compliance with IEA contract requirements and ETC policies
- Collaborating with colleagues and community organisations to strengthen referral pathways
- You’ll play a key role in helping us meet our targets—so tracking progress and hitting KPIs will be part of your day-to-day
What you will bring:
- Relevant qualification and/or experience in employment services or a related field, especially supporting people with disability
- Strong interpersonal, assessment, and organisational skills
- Motivation to achieve positive outcomes for others
- Ability to work independently and meet targets
- A current National Police Check and Work with Children Check
- Valid driver’s licence
Bonus if you have:
- Certificate IV in Employment Services (or willingness to obtain)
- Cultural competence and ability to work with diverse communities
Don't tick every box?
Don’t worry. At ETC, we’re not looking for perfection — we’re looking for passion. We believe in learning on the job and growing together. If you bring the right attitude and a willingness to learn, we’ll help you build the rest. Your transferable skills are valuable at ETC!
