About the role
The Barista/Deckhand role requires a high level of interaction with customers that are both local resident and visitors to Darwin and the TIWI islands.
As the face of the company, this role is responsible for assisting our Marine crew with boarding passengers, then manning our "Snack Bar' during our services to the TIWI islands.
Working 3-4 times per week for the next few months during our busy season, you can bring your barista experience to this role and take responsibility for on board snacks and beverages.
You may also be asked to support vessel operations while providing customer service to the passengers on board. This is a hands-on position, assisting passengers, fulfilling deckhand, and cleaning duties when requried.
To ensure safe and efficient vessel operations, clear communication, physical fitness, and the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines are paramount in this role.
Working in close conjunction with the Vessel Master, duties will include:
- Barista Coffee and soft drinks sales
- Ticket sales and snack bar sales.
- Ensure the highest standards of customer service at all times.
- Assist with the safe, efficient, and timely boarding and disembarkation of all passengers.
- Perform cleaning duties.
- Attend to passenger comfort and safety.
