Your opportunity:
The NOC Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, stability, and performance of network services in a 24/7 operational environment. This role involves monitoring network operations, responding to incidents, and working to optimize overall network efficiency. The NOC Engineer is a key contributor to maintaining uninterrupted network services and supporting business objectives through effective incident management and process improvements.
You'll make impact by:
- Monitoring network infrastructure and services continuously for performance, availability, and stability.
- Responding promptly to alerts, assessing the severity of events, and taking appropriate actions to address issues.
- Troubleshooting and resolving network-related incidents and customer faults within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Escalating unresolved or critical incidents to higher-level support teams as required.
- Maintaining clear and effective communication with stakeholders and customers regarding incident updates and resolutions.
- Providing accurate updates in the incident tracking tool.
- Collaborating with relevant teams to reduce the likelihood of incidents reoccurring.
- Assisting with network maintenance, upgrades, impact analysis, and other planned changes to minimize operational impact.
- Adhering to change control procedures, ensuring risks are assessed and properly mitigated before implementation.
- Maintaining and updating documentation related to operational processes, incident resolution, and troubleshooting methods.
- Contributing to building a centralized knowledge base to enhance team efficiency and collaboration.
- Proactively identifying opportunities to improve network efficiency and performance.
What you’ll bring:
- 2-5 years telco experience, ideally in technical involvement, including network management, equipment configuration and fault resolution processes.
- Ability to monitor voice network systems (VoIP, SIP, PBX) using NMS tools and ticketing platforms.
- Experience to configure and support voice hardware (routers, switches, SBCs, IP phones).
- Working Knowledge in Cisco Call Manager, Avaya, Asterisk, Genesys (as applicable) platforms
- Troubleshooting skills on Packet analysis, call flow tracing and fault isolation.
- A strong understanding of network operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Proven ability to respond effectively to network incidents and implement sustainable solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to address operational challenges.
- Strong written and communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to different audiences.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, challenging environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Capability to use Visio, MS Office tools MS Office products.
- Ability to develop & maintain strong interpersonal working relationships.
- Thoroughness and a strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to conceptualise systems that comprise of people, process and/or technologies and consider the broader integration perspectives.
