About the Role
As a Food Service Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the health and recovery of patients by helping to deliver nutritious meals with care, accuracy, and a smile. You’ll work in a clean, supportive, and well-structured hospital environment where every task matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, plating, and delivering patient meals
- Cleaning and sanitising kitchen areas and equipment
- Handling dietary requirements and special requests accurately
- Working collaboratively with kitchen and clinical staff
- Maintaining food safety and infection control standards
What We’re Looking For
- Previous food service, kitchen hand, or hospitality experience (healthcare preferred but not required)
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
- A strong sense of hygiene, safety, and teamwork
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
- A current Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $24.95 – $39.16 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
