Your Day-to-Day
Reporting to the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you’ll play a key role in leading the kitchen team and supporting day-to-day operations. You’ll also help mentor junior chefs, ensuring consistency, creativity, and quality across every dish.
- Oversee your section and ensure smooth kitchen operations in line with hotel and brand standards
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in menu development, kitchen organisation, and team leadership
- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, and HACCP compliance standards
- Manage stock levels, control costs, and minimise waste
- Train, inspire, and guide junior team members in their culinary development
- Collaborate with F&B and other departments to create seamless guest experiences
What We’re Looking For
- Certificate or Diploma in Commercial Cookery (from a registered training provider)
- Food Handling Certification
- Previous experience in a hotel or busy restaurant kitchen, with some shift leadership responsibility
- Strong time management and communication skills
- A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Australian working rights essential
