About the Role
As Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Leading the engineering and maintenance team with health, safety, and compliance as top priorities.
- Building a collaborative team culture that supports development, accountability, and service excellence.
- Overseeing preventative maintenance, capital works projects, and long-term asset planning.
- Managing contractors to ensure safe, timely, and high-quality outcomes.
- Driving change initiatives, innovation, and continuous improvement across the property.
- Preparing and managing budgets, cost controls, and energy efficiency programs.
- Providing clear reporting and updates to ownership and engaging with the senior management team to support operational and strategic outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A recognised trade qualification (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or similar).
- Proven leadership experience in a Chief Engineer, Facilities, or senior Maintenance role, ideally within hospitality or complex commercial environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of building services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety systems).
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health & safety and compliance.
- Experience managing capital works projects and budgets.
- Skilled in contractor management, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
- The ability to influence, support, and engage effectively at senior management level.
- A strong focus on fostering teamwork, collaboration, and a positive culture.
