Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and performance-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) - Sales and Marketing to lead and scale our operational backbone across a portfolio of e-commerce brands generating over $20M in annual Amazon US sales. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Amazon marketplace operations, has demonstrable experience in AI-driven e-commerce strategies, and excels in building efficient, tech-enabled supply chain and customer service frameworks.
This full-time role is ideal for a strategic operator who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and knows how to build systems that scale profitably.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketplace Operations – Amazon Focus:
- Oversee day-to-day Amazon operations across multiple brands, ensuring optimal performance across listings, account health, pricing, fulfillment, and compliance.
- Manage growth initiatives including new product launches, keyword optimization, promotions, and advertising strategies.
- Monitor sales velocity, customer metrics, and profitability across brands to guide strategic decision-making.
- Resolve high-impact issues with Amazon (e.g., listing suspensions, chargebacks, policy violations) quickly and effectively.
Supply Chain & Fulfillment:
- Direct end-to-end supply chain operations including procurement, inventory forecasting, 3PL coordination, and FBA/FBM logistics.
- Optimize inventory turnover and working capital while avoiding stockouts and overstock.
- Collaborate with sourcing teams and suppliers to improve lead times, reduce cost of goods sold (COGS), and strengthen vendor reliability.
- Ensure seamless integration of systems across order management, logistics, and warehouse operations.
Customer Experience & Support:
- Lead customer service strategy across all Amazon touchpoints, with a focus on maintaining excellent ratings and response time.
- Implement SOPs and automation tools to streamline post-sale communication, returns, and warranty processes.
- Drive initiatives that increase customer satisfaction, reduce negative feedback, and boost repeat purchases.
AI-Driven Operational Strategy:
- Leverage AI tools and automation platforms to enhance operations in areas like forecasting, ad performance, competitive analysis, and customer service.
- Evaluate and implement AI-based solutions for product research, content optimization, marketing automation and process improvement.
- Stay ahead of emerging tech trends that can drive efficiency and edge in e-commerce operations.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Management:
- Manage and grow cross-functional teams across operations, supply chain, and support.
- Build scalable systems and infrastructure to support growth across multiple Amazon brands.
- Work directly with the CEO and leadership team to align operational strategy with revenue and profitability goals.
- Maintain and improve KPIs across operational areas—delivery speed, in-stock rates, customer satisfaction, and operational cost per order.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in Amazon marketplace operations with a strong command of Seller Central, FBA, and Amazon advertising platforms.
- Proven success in managing a portfolio of brands with at least $20M+ in annual Amazon US sales.
- 3+ years of experience implementing or utilizing AI tools in the e-commerce space, such as AI-driven forecasting, listing optimization, content production or chatbot integrations.
- Demonstrated ability to scale operational functions and lead cross-functional teams.
- Highly analytical and process-oriented with strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, BI dashboards, and e-commerce management tools.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with international expansion, especially within Amazon US, CA, UK or DE.
- Familiarity with relevant tools to enhance Amazon marketplace competitiveness, or AI-enhanced platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, or forecasting AI.
- Background in systems integration (e.g., NetSuite, Zoho, Inventory Planner) and workflow automation.
Salary: AU$120,000.00 + Super
