We are seeking a Clinical and Quality Specialist who will be an integral member of the Clinical and Quality Operations Support team.
Role type - 12 month maximum term contract
Location - Cairns or Townsville

The opportunity
The Clinical and Quality Specialist is a pivotal role within Regis, serving as the Subject Matter Expert in clinical, care and quality matters. This position ensures that Homes within the portfolio deliver high standards of safe, effective, integrated and person-centred care, while supporting achievement of legislative and regulatory requirements.
Success in this role is built upon strong relationships with all stakeholders. The Clinical and Quality Specialist works closely with managers (including Regional General Manager, General managers and Clinical Care Managers) in respective areas, adopting a coaching and supportive style to enhance staff capability and knowledge in clinical, care, quality and improvement.
Due to the nature of the support provided, the Clinical and Quality Specialist is required to be on-site at a Home at least 4 days per week.
The Clinical and Quality Specialist is integral in shaping positive change and supporting both people and business practices to succeed.
The important role you’ll play
- Provide coordination, support, coaching and guidance to the leadership teams of the homes/services within your portfolio to ensure clinical care is delivered that is safe, effective and integrated
- Provide coordination, support, coaching and guidance to the leadership teams of the homes/services within your portfolio to ensure compliance with accreditation and other regulatory requirements
- Provide co-ordination, support, coaching and guidance to Regis sites and their leadership and management teams to ensure best practice quality systems are in place
- Skilfully lead and support projects as required
- Support clinical governance and quality management reporting
- Facilitate education and training
- Deliver excellent customer service, contribute to team culture and positive working relationships
- Contribute to a safe, compliant living and working environment
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration (no conditions)
- Previous experience in a clinical leadership role and/or quality role in Health Care or Aged Care or a similar setting
- Highly proficient clinical knowledge and clinical decision making
- Demonstrated understanding of accreditation standards and quality systems
- Current drivers licence
- Ability to coach, support and provide direction to clinical leadership and leadership teams
- Ability to collect and analyse data, distil information, report on findings and develop recommendations for improvement
- Understanding of accreditation, regulatory compliance and quality management systems and processes
- An effective communicator – both verbal and written
- Ability to provide staff education and training programs that promote organisational capability for best practice quality management
- Ability to be self-directed and maintain progress in multiple activities at the same time, having strong organisational and time management skills
- Commitment to privacy and confidentiality at all times
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge of the application of Federal, State and Local Government Regulations, Statutes, Acts as they pertain to all aspects of operating within the aged care sector (desirable)
