- Band 7 salary, commencing at $55.08 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation (dependent on skills and experience)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced registered nurse, who has worked extensively in aged care clinical governance to support best practice implementation and oversight of clinical services, ensuring compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards and Aged Care Act 2024. They will train and advise Care Partners to manage complex or high-risk care needs, while promoting client choice, independence, and self-determination. Additionally, the candidate will advise leadership on policy and procedure development for care management and clinical care delivery. This role will also contribute to MVCC’s Aged and Disability Service Governance Committee.
Responsibilities
Active participation in the governance committee, with a focus on the committee’s role in providing oversight of the systems and processes in place to support the quality and safety of clinical and personal care, including:
- incident reporting, investigation and management, including SIRS
- feedback and complaints reporting and management, including open disclosure and whistleblower protections
- risk management and continuous improvement, ensuring risks and improvement opportunities are identified, translated into action and the effectiveness evaluated
- appropriateness, adequacy and availability of resources impacting care and service delivery
Participate in the design and conduct of internal auditing, particularly in relation to:
- monitoring Care Partners for compliance with the Assessment and Care Planning Procedure and Client Monitoring Procedure
- monitoring Associated Providers providing clinical care for compliance with the strengthened Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards
Key Requirements
- Registered Nurse Qualifications with current APHRA registration
- Substantial experience in providing clinical leadership and oversight in an aged care setting supporting safe, high-quality, person-centred care
- Strong leadership and communication skills required to provide robust advice and build the clinical governance capabilities of staff, the leadership team and governance committee members
- Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and accreditation processes specific to aged care and disability services
- High level of proficiency in clinical documentation and record keeping
