In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact for correspondence relating to sports turf and sports facility maintenance.
About the Role
As the Club Liaison Officer, you will be responsible for organising and administering the planning, coordination, evaluation, and promotion of Council’s sporting infrastructure and provision of sporting opportunities. You will act as the primary point of contact within Council for liaison with seasonal sporting clubs, groups, leagues, schools, and various sporting organizations operating under a seasonal license agreement with Council. Your role will involve correspondence with sports clubs and stakeholders regarding issues related to sport across the municipality.
About You
You are a dedicated and experienced professional with a strong background in sports administration and community engagement. Your excellent communication skills enable you to effectively liaise with various stakeholders, including sporting clubs, leagues, schools, and associations. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Your enthusiasm for promoting sporting opportunities and improving sporting infrastructure is evident in your proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
You will assist the Operations Coordinator - Sport and Recreation and other team members in training and education opportunities for sporting club personnel. Additionally, you will support the development of partnerships between the City of Boroondara and internal and community stakeholders to facilitate a program of activities aimed at increasing utilization of Council recreation reserves during “off peak” periods.
With support from other team members, you will be responsible for seasonal club sportsground allocations, seasonal pavilion access, pre-season club training allocations, website reviews and updates, and ‘business as usual’ tasks. You will also assist the Operations Coordinator - Sport and Recreation and Turf team with the planning of improvements and development of Council’s sportsgrounds, sports pavilions, and open space facilities.
