About the role
As the Commercial Operations Manager, you will lead the delivery and continuous improvement of Housing Choices Australia's in-house property maintenance services. Working closely with internal teams, subcontractors, and service providers, you will ensure high-quality, efficient, and compliant maintenance operations that support our housing outcomes and strategic objectives.
This role is ideal for a results-driven leader with strong operational expertise, experience in property or maintenance services, and a commitment to performance, compliance, and customer-focused service delivery.
Lead in-house and subcontracted maintenance services across multiple sites
Oversee delivery of strategic and operational maintenance objectives
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legislative, and contractual obligations
Drive team performance, service quality, and asset lifecycle optimisation
Support continuous improvement, innovation, and cost-effective operations
About the team
The Commercial Services group is responsible for the strategic management of Housing Choices Australia’s property maintenance and repairs functions. It delivers high-quality, customer-focused services that support tenancy outcomes, optimise asset performance, and ensure compliance. The group works collaboratively across the organisation to embed operational excellence, commercial insight, and continuous improvement into all maintenance activities.
Skills and Experiences:
About you
You will have:
Tertiary qualifications in business, property, management, or a related field
Demonstrated success in a similar role within housing, property, or a related sector
Strong ability to lead change, drive innovation, and deliver practical solutions
Experience developing and executing business plans and strategic initiatives
Proven capability in preparing reports for management and regulatory purposes
Solid financial acumen, including budget development and oversight
Experience appointing and managing contractors and service providers
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative approach
You must agree to undergo any required employment screening, including but not limited to a National Criminal History or Police Check, Working with Children or Vulnerable Persons Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
