Queensland Corrective Services (QCS) is seeking a talented and experienced Communication Lead to support transformational reform across the Community Corrections and Specialist Operations (CCSO) division. This is a unique opportunity to lead strategic communication efforts that directly contribute to safer communities and improved outcomes for offenders under supervision.

The CCSO division provides specialised services to support offenders in the community and the Parole Board Queensland, and is currently undergoing significant transformation.
The CCSO Program Management Office (PMO) plays a critical role in delivering strategic projects aligned with QCS's broader reform agenda. As Communication Lead, you'll be at the heart of this change, helping to shape how it's understood, embraced, and embedded across the organisation.
About the Role
You will define, plan, and manage communication strategies to support the implementation of key initiatives across multiple project streams. You will:
Lead the development and execution of best-practice communication plans tailored to diverse correctional environments.
Collaborate with project teams, business units, and stakeholders to ensure consistent, clear, and engaging messaging.
Translate complex reform initiatives into accessible, compelling narratives for internal and external audiences.
Support business readiness and change resilience through targeted engagement strategies.
Advise senior leaders on communication risks, opportunities, and progress.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability across the PMO and broader CCSO division.
About You
You are a strategic communicator with a passion for storytelling and stakeholder engagement. You bring:
Proven experience in developing and delivering communication strategies within large-scale projects or programs.
High-level knowledge of contemporary communication and engagement frameworks.
Strong understanding of project management, change management, and business integration.
Ability to translate complex change into effective communication products.
Exceptional written communication skills, with experience producing a range of collateral from formal reports to digital content.
Experience in justice or human services environments is highly regarded.
Qualifications in communication, change management, project management, or human services are highly desirable.
