Job Description

About the team

The Community & Events Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of events, community activations, filming and photography requests, and passenger-focused initiatives at Sydney Airport.

Sydney Airport’s Corporate Affairs team is dedicated to advancing the airport’s strategic objectives by fostering strong, purposeful relationships and developing effective communication strategies. The team engages a diverse range of stakeholders, including Sydney Airport employees, media representatives, industry bodies, government agencies, not-for-profit organisations, airport workers, and the local community.

Please note this is a 6-month contract.

About the role

This role plays a vital part in supporting the Senior Manager, Community Investment and Partnerships in the successful delivery of events and activations that engage Sydney Airport’s community, partners, and internal teams. With a strong focus on coordination and logistics, it ensures seamless execution of initiatives that enhance the airport’s reputation and foster meaningful connections.

You will provide operational support for filming and photography requests, stakeholder engagements, and welcome desk activities. The role contributes to the implementation of Sydney Airport’s Community Investment and Engagement strategy, particularly in supporting communities affected by aircraft noise.

From event planning and vendor management to budget oversight and compliance, this position is instrumental in delivering high-impact experiences that reflect the airport’s commitment to excellence, safety, and community engagement.

About you

The ideal candidate will have a qualification in Event Management or at least three years of relevant experience, with knowledge of airport operations highly valued. You will bring expertise in event planning, logistics, safety compliance, and vendor and budget management.

Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential, along with a proactive, calm, and collaborative approach. A customer-focused mindset and creative problem-solving abilities round out the profile, ensuring successful delivery of engaging and impactful events.
