About the Role
This isn't just any coordination role – it's your chance to make a real difference in the lives of families and communities! As our Community Hubs Support Coordinator, you'll be the linchpin for our community hub teams, ensuring our quality framework is top-notch and providing essential support.
You'll be instrumental in fostering vital connections with local services, linking our local teams, and collaborating with our national team. The goal? To deliver holistic, locally tailored programs that truly meet the needs of families. This dynamic role will have you managing people, overseeing reporting, and championing our quality framework.
Here's a glimpse of what you'll be doing:
- Coordinating and Connecting: You'll be the go-to person for all our local community hubs, providing crucial liaison and support.
- Building Bridges: Develop strong, effective relationships with hub leaders, school principals, and their leadership teams.
- Strengthening Local Governance: Establish and/or support existing local leadership groups and advisory structures, bringing together key local organizations.
- Fostering Collaboration: Help cultivate collaborative practices and activities between hubs within your local area.
- Mentoring and Guiding: Provide valuable guidance, mentoring, and training for our dedicated hub leaders.
- Linking Services: Facilitate connections between hubs and essential local services like settlement agencies, community service agencies, and early years’ services.
- Identifying Needs: Work alongside hub leaders and principals to pinpoint any service gaps in the community.
- Sharing Stories & Growing the Network: Collaborate with other support agencies and Community Hubs Australia (CHA) to share inspiring local stories nationally and contribute to the ongoing development of our network through a national community of practice.
About You
Are you passionate about community development and empowering vulnerable families? Do you have a knack for building relationships and leading teams? If so, you might be exactly who we're looking for!
Here's what you'll bring to the table:
- Qualifications & Experience: You'll have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in Human Services, Community Services, or a related field, especially with skills in Community Development.
- Cultural Understanding: A deep understanding of the local needs of migrants in their communities, including humanitarian arrivals, with a particular focus on the needs of women and children aged 0-5 years.
- Leadership & Support: A demonstrated ability to lead teams that deliver impactful programs supporting families in vulnerable communities.
- Relationship Builder: Proven ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships and collaborative alliances with diverse community groups, agencies, and government departments.
- Governance & Compliance Savvy: A sound understanding of governance structures, including a demonstrated ability to deliver against funding agreements, meet reporting requirements, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement for both local and national activities, all while identifying any potential conflicts of interest.
- On the Go: A current Driver's Licence is essential.
