About the role
The Specialist Support Coordinator plays a key leadership role within the Support Services NDIS team, providing professional supervision to Support Coordinators and Care Coordinators while ensuring high-quality service to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander NDIS participants. The Specialist Support Coordinator supports participants with complex needs by assisting them in navigating their NDIS plans, coordinating supports, and increasing their capacity for self-management. Additionally, the Specialist Support Coordinator serves as the local lead in the absence of the NDIS Manager, ensuring the continued effectiveness of service delivery and adherence to organisational standards.
Duties
- Provide professional supervision and mentoring to Support Coordinators and Care Coordinators.
- Facilitate team meetings and reflective practice sessions.
- Assist participants with complex support needs in navigating their NDIS plans.
- Advocate for participants to ensure access to appropriate and culturally safe services.
- Coordinator and implement high-level support strategies in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Monitor progress and adjust supports as needed.
- Ensure continuity of service delivery and adherence to operational procedures.
- Act as the local lead in the absence of the NDIS Manager.
- Assist participants in identifying and connecting with appropriate service providers.
- Ensure culturally safe and person-centred service delivery.
- Support team members in meeting service and performance targets whilst maintaining own performance service targets.
- Annual Salary of $92,000 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience).
- 11.5% Super + Not-for-Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay).
- Two permanent full-time positions (1 for Northside locations & 1 for Southside locations).

COVID-19 Requirements
- Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid - 19 vaccine is encouraged.
Required
- Tertiary qualification in social work, disability support, psychology, community services, or a related field.
- Minimum three years of experience in NDIS Support Coordination, case management, or a leadership role is disability services.
- Demonstrated experience providing professional supervision and mentoring to staff.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, funding mechanisms, and government policies.
- Ability to work in a performance-driven environment and meet service delivery targets.
- Strong understanding of NDIS principles, funding structures, and service navigation.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and advocacy skills.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Current C Class Drivers Licence.
- Current Criminal History Check.
- Current Blue Card.
- Current Disability Worker Screening Worker Card (Yellow Card).
- Ability to travel across the designated service region as required.
