Sydney Children's Hospitals Network is the largest paediatric health care entity in Australia. We care for thousands of children each year in our hospitals and in their homes — with one purpose in mind — to help young people live their healthiest lives.


EPIC-ND is a multisite randomised controlled trial evaluating a social prescribing program for children with neurodisability and their parents/carers.


  • The program identifies unmet social needs (e.g. housing, transport) and supports families to access appropriate services.
  • The Community Linker (Allied Health Assistant) provides practical support, including navigating services, making referrals, completing forms, and booking appointments.

  • Answers to the following targeted questions:
  • Completion or enrolment in Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant or working towards similar or equivalent certifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and cooperatively with health professionals in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required) as delegated by supervising Allied Health Professional.
  • Experience working with children and their families within a healthcare setting or in an alternative capacity, including priority populations (e.g. children with chronic and/or complex care needs, culturally and linguistically diverse families, families experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage)
