The opportunity
The opportunity Our national Occupational Hygiene & Hazardous Materials team comprises licensed asbestos assessors, certified occupational hygienists, senior toxicologists, and laboratory professionals.
As a Consultant, your primary focus is to assess hazardous materials and chemical, physical and biological hazards in the workplace, to protect workers' health and provide guidance to clients so they can anticipate, recognise, evaluate, and control risks associated with those hazardous.
You will be based in our Wollongong office and contribute to enhancing environmental health and safety (EHS) standards within workplaces, safeguarding the health and wellbeing of workers as well as your clients' reputation, meeting regulatory and best practice requirements.
We've recently delivered asbestos, HAZMAT and occupational hygiene consultancy services across a wide range of workplace environments from large-scale industrial to specialist research facilities, for clients such as:

What you’ll do
- Conducting Asbestos and HazMat audits in commercial buildings, industrial facilities and residential properties such as
- Regulatory required condition and re-inspection audits
- Regulatory and investigative pre-demolition / Refurbishment Assessments
- Developing asbestos monitoring and remediation strategies, issuing clearances
- Providing technical guidance on sites during asbestos and lead removal projects
- Conducting indoor air quality, mould and moisture assessments
- Conducting occupational hygiene assessments for a broad range of contaminants including, dust, noise, chemicals etc
- Analysing data and prepare technical reports with support from senior staff, including technical specialists and Certified Occupational Hygienists
- Assisting the team with strategy and business development
About you
You are likely to have tertiary qualifications in a scientific field, environmental management/science, health and safety, or occupational hygiene.
You will ideally bring the following:
- Experience in measuring and assessing occupational exposure to hazards in the workplace or conducting asbestos and hazmat surveys
- Demonstrate initiative and competence in the technical aspects of the role and ready, and willing to embrace new challenges
- Strong report writing ability and verbal and written communication skills
- Personal, client and project management skills
- Ability to work independently, alongside a team
- Able to work remotely on occasion, with occasional weekends and overtime as required
- Asbestos Assessors License would be highly regarded
- A full Australian Driver's License if required to travel to client sites
