About the Role:
Join the team to support our Customer Fulfilment Centre in Wetherill Park, NSW, Australia.
The Controls and Automation Specialist provides front line support related to the continuous operation of site material handling equipment (MHE). Work may range between electrical wiring faults, communications issues, database and reporting needs through to detailed analysis of different types of programmable logic controller software. The position will also be required to support continuous improvement initiatives and carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities on MHE. Some examples of MHE include; bots, tote and product handling equipment, associated conveyor networks.The role is shift based and will report to the respective Engineering Team Manager. The role has a dotted line to the Lead Automation Engineer who shall provide technical direction and support when required. The role is a shift position that will require working days, nights and weekends. Flexibility in working hours is also necessary to support Ocado’s 24/7 operation.

●Carrying out planned maintenance across the site in an accurate, timely and safe manner ensuring maintenance procedures are
followed
●Remotely supporting partner sites using phone and other company communications tools.
●Update records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used through stores and training given
●Work closely with manufacturers, suppliers and internal departments in finding ways to improve process and increase
machine reliability and performance
●Respond to and diagnose equipment breakdowns, resolving issues and action repairs
●Analyse data to find solutions to improve MHE performance, providing reports where necessary
●Complete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard
●Work to and follow Health and Safety policies including those set by Ocado, Coles and Australian regulatory standards. To seek
guidance from the HS&E team where there is uncertainty. You may be asked to perform tasks as required by management deemed as a reasonable request. ●Demonstrated technical ability in relation to Automation and controls hardware, software and communications.
●Formal tertiary qualifications in a related field will be highly regarded
●Demonstrable analytical skills with sound problem solving ability
●Good communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to impart knowledge effectively to others
●Good organisation skills, able to prioritise
●A self starter who is comfortable with setting goals and reporting to all levels of management
