Important location update: This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the Event Strategy and Delivery Branch (ESD) during a period of growth and transition. Initially based at 530 Collins Street, Melbourne, the position will relocate to the new office at 465 Plummer Street, Port Melbourne. The new location will become the primary workplace for the ESD branch from January 2026, with some teams transitioning ahead of this date.
What you will be doing
Reporting directly to Manager, Election Venues, this role will be responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the Election Venues Service Desk, providing timely support for on-site issues related to venue access, IT, facilities, utilities, and general operations.

In this role, you will:
- Manage service desk requests, resolving first-level issues and escalating complex matters to internal teams or vendors as needed.
- Monitor and analyse service data to identify trends, produce performance reports, and contribute to ongoing improvements.
- Coordinate key site logistics, including reception coverage, staff transport, and shared vehicle use.
- Develop and maintain user guides, procedures, and knowledgebase content to support consistent and efficient service delivery.
- Collaborate with IDS, Infrastructure, and Facilities teams to ensure timely resolution of venue-related issues, particularly during major election operations.
What you will bring to the role
- Proven experience coordinating a service desk or support function, with strong triage and issue resolution skills.
- Solid technical knowledge across Windows, Office 365, and enterprise systems, with the ability to support venue and IT issues.
- Strong communication and stakeholder skills, with a calm, solutions-focused approach in high-pressure situations.
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using data to drive service improvements.
