About the role and team
Our security services at Court Services Victoria keep the courts and tribunals and the people who attend them safe, secure and orderly. For people living with family violence, court security also makes the experience of attending court safer and less confronting. At the County Court of Victoria our dedicated security services play an essential role in creating a safer, more comfortable environment.
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Court & Facility Supervisor. In this role you will report to the Security & Emergency Manager and provide essential day-to-day leadership to a team of approximately 55 dedicated Court Security Officers. You will demonstrate an excellent understanding of emergency management in coordination with the Chief Warden. Your role will be fundamental in upholding the safety and security of the County Court of Victoria, aligning with our commitment in maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
Core responsibilities of this role include:
- Leadership - Provide leadership and supervision of all CSOs, including staff performance management, courtroom incident response and coordinating efficient courtroom searching procedures
- Recruitment & Training - Interviewing CSO applicants onsite and online for vacant roles and liaising with the G4S Talent Acquisition team regarding applicant outcomes.
- Reporting and Administration - Complete all operational reports accurately and within agreed timeframes, ensure all timesheets and payroll data is submitted, and complete and submit compliance checks.
- Rostering and Workforce Planning - Coordinate the allocation of CSOs to undertake ad hoc duties utilising cost-effective rostering options whilst delivering high standards of customer service.
- Safety and Compliance - Ensure that all security and OH&S incidents are investigated, escalated and reported to G4S, understanding of the Emergency Management Plan process and contributing to the maintenance and improvement of workplace safety.
- Stakeholder Management - Develop and maintain excellent client relationships with court registrars, Victoria Police, and other court users.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Certificate II Security Operations
- A current Victorian Security Licence
- Current first aid & CPR accreditation (or willing to get this)
- Current Victorian driver's licence
- Computer literate - able to produce Microsoft Word documents and Excel workbooks
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable:
- Certificate IV Frontline Management or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- Previous experience in emergency coordination, response and operational management
- High attention to detail, particularly in a compliance-driven environment
- A minimum of 12 months of experience in a similar role.
- X-ray screening experience
