Part of Corporate Technology, Financial Services Analytics (FS Analytics) combine our business knowledge, data and the appropriate blend of BI and AI tooling to optimise and automate processes across the Group. This includes interactive reporting, control automations and supporting insights through dataset curation.

The role reports to the Technology General Manager for Financial Services, HR and Legal and works in close partnership with the Crew Lead, Financial Services Analytics. The purpose of this role is to lead the design and execution of the technology roadmap for the Financial Services Analytics Crew. You will have accountability for the system performance, cost and technology risk of applications and IT services that the crew delivers to the Chief Financial Office teams and users of financial analytics across the Bank. The Crew Tech Lead (CTL) will play a key leadership role in driving adoption of the Group’s Technology Strategy through adoption of DevSecOps, world class data platforms, AI, modernisation to SaaS/Cloud and improving delivery capability.
The key objective of the technology roadmap for FS Analytics is to modernise the technology and data architecture to deliver next-gen analytics and AI experiences, using the Group’s new strategic data platforms. As such, the successful candidate will have a strong technical understanding and demonstrable track record in modern data engineering, with a passion for driving innovation in how data is delivered and used to create insights and experiences that support CBA’s strategy of becoming tomorrow’s bank, today.
Key responsibilities:
Develop a technology roadmap to support the FS Analytics Crew, aligned to the Group’s Technology Strategy
Work with product owners, SME’s, architecture, and engineering to design and implement technology solutions that deliver on business outcomes
Lead a team of technology professionals within the crew as part of the CBA Pace model, including team members in CBA India
Work with other experts within Group Technology functions on key elements such as data ingestion, integration, and security
Operate the business applications to required levels of availability and reliability within a DevSecOps delivery model
Partner with solution and delivery vendors to deliver positive and innovative outcomes
Work with business partners in Finance, Risk, Performance, and HR to manage and optimise our risk, cost and workforce profiles
About you:
Possess significant experience in data engineering and delivery on modern cloud-based data architectures and platforms
Have a strong understanding of BI & Analytics, including reporting and workflow management; and how they enable business performance improvement at both user and executive level
Have experience in AI technologies and their application to both the practice of data engineering and the user experience
Be able to demonstrable a track record in helping solve business problems and opportunities with technology
Will be well versed in DevSecOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) methods
Come from a development background and have experience in Python, Java or similar languages
Display a growth mindset and the ability to work in a very fast paced and Agile environment
