THE POSITION:
The Dairy Cattle Farm Operator full time position will involve working in all day-to-day aspects of the farm operation under supervision of the Dairy Farmer and Senior Dairy Cattle Workers. The Federal Pastoral Award (2020) payrates will be the starting wage for this position and it is anticipated that an annualised salary of $69,000 to $79,000 + will be offered depending on experience. The passion of the applicant will dictate where the majority of the work will lie.
The Dairy Cattle Farm Operator will be required to assist in all aspects of milk production including working in the milk shed routine, assisting with monitoring the quality assurance procedures completing standard relevant documentation for compliance.
The position will also include assisting with feeding and movement of the cattle within the property, helping with pasture and crops, helping to identify and maintain animal health issues, calving and other related tasks when required.
The ability to operate and maintain farm machinery including the use of 4-wheel quadbikes and trailing feed mixer required. Additional training on extended machinery will be provided.
For this full-time position, we expect the applicant would have 1-2+ years recent working experience. Formal Cert 2 and above qualifications preferred, along with relevant experience.
The successful applicant will have a current driver's license and reliable vehicle, good English including spoken, word and mathematical ability along with amiable personality with ability to work as part of a team and lead as necessary.
