Band 8 - Salary Range $127,546 to $142,788 per annum + 12% Super + ADO

The Opportunity
At Melton City Council, we are dedicated to creating a vibrant and liveable city for everyone. As part of the Technology team, we’re seeking a highly skilled Data Migration Lead to plan, design, build, test and deliver the data migration workstream. Working closely with vendors, technical teams, and stakeholders, you'll ensure a seamless transition from multiple legacy systems to the new platform.
Reporting to the TCP Principal Architect, you will be responsible to collaborate across functional teams, to obtain data, analyse and consolidate datasets from various sources, enabling consistent and evidence evidence-based decisions. Additionally, you will apply advanced data analysis techniques to assess performance outcomes, monitor migration progress, and highlight areas for improvement or escalation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end data migration activities with the Data Migration vendor, ensuring data integrity, compliance with industry standard and best practice, and alignment with the ERP implementation while minimising business disruption.
- Assess and analyse the volume and type of data to be migrated and understand the target system requirements, identifying and mapping legacy data to target system based on business rules ensuring its accuracy, consistency, and readiness for migration.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, working collaboratively to ensure that the data migration process is understood and implemented accordingly with standards, practices and legislation.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related field with relevant experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge in large transformation programs including end-to-end data migration, extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), validation, and reconciliation.
- Highly developed understanding of ERP platforms and their data structures, with experience and proficiency in migrations across systems.
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis, data extraction, integrations, conversion, analysis, migration and reporting in a complex environment.
