The Role:

This is a part time, ongoing 0.4EFT role within the Nutrition & Food Services Department on Mondays & Tuesdays.

You will be responsible for the provision of high-quality nutritional care to paediatric patients and their families within the inpatient and outpatient setting. The clinical units will include NICU, Respiratory Medicine, Cystic Fibrosis and HEN and other medical specialties as required. It will also include rotation on the weekend roster.

Classification for this position with range from AJ1 – AJ4 Grade 2 Year 1 to Grade 2 Year 4 ($92,627.6‬0 to $104,811.2‬0 per annum pro rata + superannuation + salary packaging).

What You’ll Achieve:

  • Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure patient care is integrated and effective
  • Provide nutritional care to paediatric patients (inpatients and outpatients) and nutritional support across a variety of specialist/medical units
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including food service and formula room staff, to ensure patient and ward needs are addressed effectively

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Eligibility for full Membership of Dietitians Australia
  • Eligibility for the Accredited Practising Dietitian Program
  • Minimum postgraduate degree Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent

About The Department:

The Department of Nutrition and Food Services at The Royal Children's Hospital incorporates the clinical dietetic service, the Main Kitchen that caters for inpatient meals and the Central Formula Room that produces formula, enteral feeds and fortifies expressed breast milk to meet the nutritional needs of patients. The Department is also a registered NDIS provider.
