In this role, you'll:
Join the TFNSW Infrastructure Projects & Engineer Division within the Property Development & Land Access Team on an exciting, Permanent, Director Property Acquisition opportunity.
You will be responsible for leading Transport’s land acquisition processes in accordance with governing legislation and standards focused on fairness, access to information and assistance, consistency, and transparency.
You will oversee strategic planning, negotiation and management of litigations and claims to enable Transport to access land, and fosters collaboration with infrastructure projects across NSW, selecting evaluation and negotiation strategies that address the complexity of the property acquisition.
You will work with internal and external legal teams to develop claims management strategies and settlement options, researching and preparing evidence and case management in the course of overseeing property claims, litigation, valuations, land access for road maintenance and resilience, rail interface management, and matters related to Aboriginal land claims, native title and hardship acquisition cases.
This is a hybrid flexible position meaning you can mix office-days with work-from-home. The remuneration is within the TSSE 1A Band ($196 to $202k inclusive of super).

About you
Extensive senior management experience in commercial and government property acquisitions, freehold and leasehold property surface, and subsurface and air stratum acquisitions.
Deep understanding of relevant legislation and statutory frameworks governing property claims and litigation.
Proven experience in managing large-scale property acquisitions, including compulsory acquisition processes, hardship claims and statutory land transactions for infrastructure projects.
Highly developed communication, negotiation and influencing skills with proven ability to articulate complex and sensitive issues to a wide range of receivers in a highly diplomatic and empathetic manner.
Extensive knowledge in relation to the application of relevant legislation and court precedents.
Extensive experience in liaising, coordinating and managing across government agencies and sensitive stakeholders to develop and deliver programs and projects.
Extensive demonstrated experience in working closely with state and local government to leverage outcomes for the community.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate dynamic information and positively motivate and lead a large professional team to deliver high quality land access project outcomes.
Demonstrated ability in leading and motivating a team of specialist staff, facilitating their ongoing professional development, and maximising their performance to deliver optimal outcomes.
Tertiary qualifications in real estate valuation, property and/or another related discipline, combined with relevant and equivalent professional experience.
