Key Responsibilities
- Support participants with daily living tasks and personal goals
- Provide respectful personal care and assistance with self-care routines
- Carry out safe manual handling practices in line with participant needs
- Encourage independence in self-care, household tasks, and community participation
- Assist participants to access the community and attend appointments
- Maintain accurate progress notes and communicate effectively with the team
- Create safe, supportive environments where participants feel valued
- Build professional, respectful relationships that honour participant choice
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Qualifications:
- Background in nursing, psychology, mental health, or previous support work
- Experience supporting individuals with psychosocial disabilities
- Familiarity with personal care and manual handling (training provided if required)
Skills:
- Reliable, professional, and able to maintain clear boundaries
- Empathetic, patient, and committed to person-centred care
- Skilled in encouraging independence and building participant confidence
- Strong communicator with participants, families, and colleagues
- Organised and accurate in following care plans and documentation
- Flexible and adaptable to different support needs and environments
Requirements:
- Blue Card (or willing to obtain)
- Yellow Card (Disability Worker Screening Clearance) (or willing to obtain)
- Queensland Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with insurance
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Current Police Check (or willing to obtain)
