Key Responsibilities:
- Support participants with daily living tasks and personal goals
- Encourage independence in self-care, household tasks, and community activities
- Maintain accurate records and communicate updates
- Assist participants to access the community and attend appointments
- Ensure a safe environment for participants and staff
- Build positive, professional relationships and support participants’ choices
What We’re Looking For:
Experience:
Previous experience as a Support Worker or a relevant qualification in the field
Previous experience supporting individuals with psychosocial disabilities
Skills:
- Reliable, professional, and able to maintain clear boundaries
- Person-centred approach with empathy and patience
- Ability to encourage independence and build participant confidence
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with participants, families, and colleagues
- Ability to follow care plans and document progress accurately
- Flexible and adaptable to different support needs and community environments
Requirements:
- Blue Card (or willing to obtain)
- Yellow Card (Disability Worker Screening Clearance) (or willing to obtain)
- Queensland Driver's Licence and own reliable vehicle
- Comprehensive car insurance
- Current First Aid & CPR certification
- Current Police Check (or willing to obtain)
