DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER (Casual Basis)
Poly Support Services is looking for a Disability Support Worker to join our team based in Albury/Wodonga for immediate start on a casual basis. Experience in either aged care or disability care is highly preferred, but not essential. The successful applicant will be required to have their own vehicle as well as comprehensive car insurance to travel for work.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assisting participants with social/community activities and appointments
· Provide personal care assistance to participants (e.g. mobility assistance, bathing, feeding, medication assistance, etc.)
· Meal preparation
· Domestic cleaning
· Working within our team to assist with group supports
. Keeping records/notes on shift and liaising with staff
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Current Driver’s Licence (without restrictions)
. Comprehensive Car Insurance
. NDIS Worker's Screening Check
. NDIS Worker's Orientation Module Certificate
. National Police Check (within the last 6 months)
· Patience & emotional resilience
· Desire to improve the life of another
· Ability to adapt and stay calm in challenging situations
· 100 points of ID
DESIRABLES
· Certificate III in Social and Community Work OR desire to obtain one
· Experience working with vulnerable people
· First Aid + CPR certificate
· Working with Children’s Check (VIC or NSW)
