About the Role
Swinburne University is seeking an experienced Learning and Development Lead to shape the future of educator capability across both Higher Education and Vocational Education and Training. Based within the Education Innovation Exchange (EIX), this role is central to designing and delivering impactful programs such as the Educator Capability Program and the Swinburne Educator Academy.

You’ll work closely with academic and professional staff to identify capability gaps, co-design innovative learning solutions, and embed a culture of continuous improvement. From managing flagship initiatives to evaluating outcomes and mentoring colleagues, your work will directly support Swinburne’s 2025 vision of becoming a leading university of science, technology and innovation.

This is a unique opportunity to influence university-wide learning strategies, collaborate with a forward-thinking team, and contribute to a future-focused, industry-engaged education environment.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
  • Experience in leading the development and implementation of education-focused learning and development and change programs and strategies in medium to large sized organisations.
  • Experience in managing medium to large sized projects in a dynamic and complex environment including demonstrated capability to plan, schedule and organise cross functional projects given multiple priorities or perspectives.
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills with demonstrated success in influencing others with innovative solutions
  • Experience in professional development for capability building of staff in contemporary approaches to learning and teaching in tertiary education.
  • Demonstrated outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, capable of coordinating a diverse team and engaging with various audiences to negotiate and reach consensus on outcomes while addressing differing perspectives.


Qualifications
  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience and/or education/training in education, instructional design, or a related field.
  • Certification in Project Management. (Preferable)
