Electrical Technician at Nutrien Water Lameroo

Position: Electrical Technician (Irrigation Systems)
Nutrien Water Lameroo is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team. As an Electrical Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the performance of our irrigation systems, particularly Zimmatic Pivots, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), Diesel-driven pumps, and new Pump Station installations. Your expertise will ensure that these systems run efficiently, providing reliable water distribution to support productive farming.
Key Responsibilities:
- Irrigation System Electrical Work: Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical components on Zimmatic Pivots, Diesel Gensets, VSDs, and diesel-powered pumps.
- Installation & Breakdowns: Complete electrical installations and respond to breakdowns on Zimmatic Pivots, including wiring, controls, and automation, ensuring that we keep irrigation equipment going.
- Variable Speed Drives: Manage and maintain Variable Speed Drives to control motor speed and power, enhancing irrigation system efficiency.
- Diesel Engine & Genset Repairs: Diagnose and repair electrical issues on diesel engines and gensets, ensuring optimal performance.
- Pump Station Installations: Install, test, and commission electrical components for new pump stations and irrigation systems.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose issues with pivots and pump setups and complete repairs with minimal downtime.
- Admin : You will be required to fill out Job Cards and Time Cards and ensure that all parts, hours, travel and site names are recorded. You will also be required to do the relevant health and safety documentations.
Required Qualifications:
- Electrician Certification/License (essential)
- Manual Driver's License (essential)
- Strong command of electrical systems, with fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work well in both team settings and independently
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Self-motivation with the ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision
- Comfortable using technology and proficient computer literacy
- Comfortable working at heights
Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of agricultural technology and automation systems
- Experience with Zimmatic Pivots and other irrigation systems is highly desirable
