The role
The Environmental Compliance Lead is responsible for leading and enhancing our Environmental Management System (EMS) in line with ISO14001:2015 to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and regulatory requirements. The role also provides expert advice on environmental risks and strategic leadership across drinking water catchment and biodiversity management functions.
What you’ll bring
- Strong skills and experience in handling, analysis and interpretation of environmental data against legislation, policy and regulatory requirements.
- Sound judgement in prioritising competing demands and preventing and responding to environmental incidents, balancing operational, regulatory and reputational considerations.
- Experience in leadership and a commitment to a positive team and organisational culture.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and an ability to engage effectively with external regulators, partner agencies and internal staff of all levels.
- Effective time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict compliance deadlines.
