We’re on the lookout for a friendly, organised, and proactive Events Manager to join our team at The Clyde Hotel—a classic Aussie pub known for its great food, friday night footy and welcoming atmosphere. With a packed calendar of university club functions, birthdays, and corporate gatherings, the Events Manager plays a key role in making sure every booking runs smoothly from first contact to final cheers.
This is a management role ideal for someone with a solid hospitality background, strong people skills, and a flair for event planning. You’ll work closely with the Venue Manager (VM), Assistant Venue Manager (AVM), kitchen, and bar team. The role involves weekend and night work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Acting as the first point of contact for all function and group bookings
- Responding to emails and phone enquiries with warmth and efficiency
- Planning events, everything from room layouts to drinks tabs and catering coordination
- Working with the kitchen on menus and dietary needs
- Sending and following up invoices
- Supporting the AVM and VM with ad hoc tasks
- Helping duty managers during service as needed
- Working bar shifts throughout the week (mostly days, some evenings/weekends)
- Making sure bookings are prepped and running smoothly every day
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in hospitality, with some leadership or coordination responsibilities desirable
- Ideally some event planning experience (formal qualifications not required)
- Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, finance systems, POS systems
- A people person: Upbeat, approachable, and solution-focused
- Highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines
- Calm under pressure: You can sort out issues on the fly and keep your cool
- Not currently in full-time education: We need someone flexible and available

- 30-40h/week, with reasonable overtime when required
